Enjoying the 2010 Winter Olympics

During the last week, there have been a myriad of events during the Winter Olympics in Vancouver, British Columbia. Hopefully the Team USA hockey team will soon win their fifth gold medal of all time and will be on office artwork for a long time. But despite all the dreams coming true and some coming to an end, there was a disturbing tragedy that occurred at the beginning of these Olympics. The death of an Olympic athlete is always a tragedy for an entire country and Nodar Kumaritashvili will be sorely missed. His luge accident shook the entire Olympics.
But on to better news. The United States is going strong in the medal count and they are dominating the ice hockey event as well as the speed skating event. If you have never gotten into the winter Olympics before, this year might be the time to change the channel. It’s a great thing to watch and will bring everyone together in the family and in the country. When Apolo Ohno wins gold, his picture will become art for offices all across the country.
The winter Olympics may only be a couple of weeks long and the World Cup may be coming this summer, but it doesn’t mean you should miss it.
